On 25 November 2025, the SOS Prodehesa Montado project was invited to participate in the final conference of the RAIA Project (Agricultural Innovation Support Network) led by the Agricultural and Fisheries Management Agency (AGAPA), which took place in Ayamonte, Huelva.
The RAIA project, co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal Cross-Border Cooperation Programme (POCTEP) 2021-2027, has sought to promote agricultural innovation in rural areas in the Alentejo-Algarve region – Andalusia and has created a network between public administrations, associations, companies and the general public in the region, transforming the La Raya area into a territory with new business opportunities and the capacity to take on new challenges and opportunities that arise.
The project includes numerous training courses in border areas, related to the circular economy, wool composting, living labs, branding with territorial identity, cross-border tourism products, among others, ideas and challenges and the development of an action plan. This information can be consulted in more detail on the project’s website: RAIA – Rural Innovation Support Network / Rede de Apoio à Inovação Rural.
The conference was attended by participants from various projects in Portugal and Spain within the framework of the Interreg – POCTEP 2021 – 2027 programme. Among them, the Regional Government of Extremadura attended on behalf of SOS PRODEHESA MONTADO to publicise the activities being carried out by the entire consortium within the project, as well as other results expected for next year.
