On 24 November 2025, the SOS PRODEHESA MONTADO project will hold the III Conference on the Transfer of Good Practices in Portugal, a meeting aimed at disseminating innovative techniques to improve the sustainable management of the dehesa and montado. The event, organised by partners ACTYVA S. Coop. and APORMOR, will take place at the APORMOR facilities (Moura) and the Herdade São Luís estate (Montemor-o-Novo).
The conference will focus on the importance of multi-species rotational management as a tool for strengthening the resilience and adaptation of the pasture/montado ecosystem, a key system for biodiversity and the rural economy of south-western Iberia. During the technical visit to Herdade São Luís, attendees will be able to see first-hand practices such as rotational management of sow herds, direct sowing with pivot and cattle management, examples of how agricultural and livestock innovation can contribute to the sustainability of the territory.
The event will begin with a welcome and presentation of the SOS PRODEHESA MONTADO project, followed by a technical tour of the farm and a final session of conclusions and closing remarks.
