Within the framework of the SOS ProDehesa Montado project, we would like to highlight the work of the University of Extremadura (UEx), an institution with a consolidated track record in international cross-border cooperation, scientific research and environmental projects.

In the last decade, UEx has participated in more than 60 international projects, demonstrating its capacity to tackle large-scale challenges and its commitment to sustainable development.

During the 2014-2020 POCTEP period, it managed 20 projects, strengthening its role as a reference in cooperation between border regions. To optimise this work, the European Projects Office was created in 2019, with a team of 11 highly qualified people. This team supports researchers in the application and management of international grants, facilitating access to resources and ensuring the effectiveness of funded projects.

The European Projects Office is in charge of the integral management of INTERREG projects, including the processing of expenses, the preparation of audits and the closure of projects, ensuring compliance with European standards and the success of each initiative.

Thanks to this structure and experience, UEx brings a rigorous and strategic approach to the SOS ProDehesa Montado project, consolidating the collective effort to protect and regenerate the dehesa-montado ecosystems.
