ACTYVA, as part of the SOS ProDehesa Montado project, has made key contributions to the agroforestry sector, standing out for its commitment to sustainability and the training of professionals.
One of its most relevant achievements is the translation and validation of the ecological health index for the dehesa, a tool developed within the GoDEHESA standard, which allows the sustainability of this unique ecosystem to be assessed and improved.
In addition, ACTYVA has implemented a permanent training programme specifically designed for professionals in the agroforestry sector. In collaboration with the University of Extremadura, it offers the Integral Management of Dehesa course, combining technical knowledge and innovative strategies. Since 2016, it has also been offering accredited training in holistic management through the prestigious Savory Institute.
Another of its main lines of action is the revaluation of pasture products, such as wool, promoting their sustainable use and fostering the development of local value chains. ACTYVA also actively collaborates with the shepherds’ schools of Casar de Cáceres, Castuera and the Provincial Council of Badajoz, contributing to the training and professionalisation of workers in the sector.
Thanks to these initiatives, ACTYVA plays an essential role in the protection and regeneration of the dehesa, demonstrating that training and innovation are fundamental pillars to ensure the future of this valuable ecosystem.
